What are the benefits of online learning?

Online training is designed and written to be self-paced and self-directed. Is online learning cheaper than university?

English universities can charge up to a maximum of £9,250 per year for an undergraduate degree and the total average cost of studying in the UK is estimated to be at least £22,200 per year, with studying in London likely to be significantly more expensive. Add this to the cost of living and the overall expense of a university education becomes somewhat eye-watering.

Online learning cuts out the need for accommodation, travel, or venue. It also ‘spreads the cost’ of a physical tutor across unlimited students – due to video based instructor led content accessible in the cloud. This can be likened to e-commerce, where once we would have to make a physical journey, followed by a physical interaction to obtain an item, the world wide web now enables us to simply ‘one click’ removing all associated overheads and time to the equation.
