We are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam W Pemberton as CEO and Darren Forster as COO.
Published on: 14th February 2020
This announcement comes as current CEO and Founder, Patrick Aylmer has transitioned to the role of Founder and Director following 10 years of success. Pemberton will lead the business and continue Learning People’s mission towards closing the skills gap through industry-leading online learning.
The change will see Learning People move to the next level of global business growth as both Pemberton and Forster bring a wealth of experience internationally within the tech industry. Pemberton recently sold Impero Software in a $36.3mn deal, which he achieved within 20 months of taking over the business as CEO with Forster as CTO & COO.
Sam Pemberton had this to say: “I am delighted to have joined Learning People at a time of great excitement and with the company poised for significant further growth. Patrick has done a stellar job building-out a fantastic team and it’s great to now be alongside him and them.”
Pemberton continued: “It is abundantly clear that globally there is a vast array of talent seeking the qualifications needed to break into the technology space, and crucially a huge number of employers searching for quality, career-ready people. We are very proud of how we help our students begin or accelerate their career in tech and it is clear that our career consultants are truly world class in guiding candidates on the correct tech career learning pathway.”
Darren Forster commented: “The demand for skilled professionals is ever-growing in the tech sector and Learning People offers an incredible platform for individuals and companies alike. I am very excited to join the team and help take the company to new heights for the next generation of learners.”
On the handover, Patrick Aylmer said: “Sam and Darren are joining at an enormously exciting time at Learning People and I am positive they will accelerate the organisation forward, given their impressive skillset and experience. With the ever increasing number of enquiries we are receiving from people wanting to get into the tech industry, and the launch of our Career Services and Industry Advisory Board we are more equipped than ever to form the bridge between skilled professionals and the relevant employers. It has been an incredible journey and I look forward to being a part of the continued progress from the position of Founder and Director. I warmly welcome Sam and Darren to the team.”
With a research report for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, stating that the Cyber Security sector is now worth an estimated £8.3bn, Learning People is in a strong position. Supported by the new CEO and COO, the team is set to position themselves as the industry’s leading experts in career-ready education.
