Yatin’s Story
At 25, Yatin Sharma was looking to move from the physically demanding building industry into IT, with an interest in developing skills that could support greater career flexibility and stability.
After discussing his background and career goals with Learning People, Yatin chose to pursue CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications to develop practical IT knowledge and support his transition into the industry.
With StudentCare™ support, Yatin received guidance throughout his studies and successfully passed his first certification after several months of training.
Career Services then helped him understand the IT job market, develop his CV and LinkedIn profile, connect with relevant recruiters and approach job applications effectively.
Yatin initially secured a temporary Field Engineer position, allowing him to apply his newly developed technical skills. He later progressed into an IT Support Administrator role at Te Puawaitanga ki Otautahi Trust, demonstrating how professional certifications can support a transition into a new industry.
Yatin says:
“I have always wanted a change of career but not sure on the best course to do, until I landed on Learning People's website and spoke to Hellen who gave me a superb advice. Now I am enrolled with Learning People and really appreciate a splendid job she did. Their tutorials are self paced and with a very flexible payment plan. Career Consultant was amazing Florencia Pacheo, She helped me from day one to get me employed. I would not hesitate to recommend Learning People to anyone else because of the job well done.”
