PMP Exam Changes from July 2026
We want to make you aware of an important upcoming change to the PMP certification, so you can plan your studies with confidence.
The Project Management Institute (PMI) has announced that a new PMP Exam Content Outline (ECO) will come into effect globally from 9 July 2026.
Please read the FAQs below for more information.
FAQs
The updated PMP exam will be introduced globally from 9 July 2026.
- Updated live bootcamps aligned to the new exam will launch from 11 May 2026
- A revised Test Prep / exam simulator will be available from June 2026
The last date to sit the current version of the PMP exam is 8 July 2026.
Things to consider:
- Plan to complete your course content and exam preparation so you can book early to secure your preferred date and location
- Demand for exam slots is expected to be significantly higher closer to the deadline
General guidance:
- If you’re well progressed in your studies, consider booking before July
- If you’re early in your journey, it may be better to wait for the new content
Choosing whether to sit the current exam or wait for the new version depends on how far you’ve progressed in your studies:
- You’re 70%+ through your PMP studies
We recommend aiming to sit the current exam before 8 July 2026 - You’re around halfway through (30–70%)
You could take either approach. If you’re able to increase your study pace, sitting before July may be achievable. If not, transitioning to the new content may be the better option. - You’re just starting or haven’t begun studying yet
We recommend waiting for the new exam content and updated training
