The APM Project Management course requires 70-80 hours of guided study time, after which we are confident you will have the expertise and conviction to prove your skills as a professional Project Manager.      

Covering vital areas from the APM Body of Knowledge, such as budgeting, conflict management, communication, leadership, negotiation, procurement, and more, the APM PMQ demonstrates your capability in steering projects from inception to successful completion.

How you'll be assessed

You will be assessed via an exam, and if you pass the exam successfully, you will qualify for APM PMQ. The 180-minute long exam is set by APM, where candidates must answer 10 out of 16 questions. For PRINCE2® Registered Practitioners, there is an alternative 120-minute exam where candidates must answer 6 out of 10 questions.


On successfully passing the APM Project Management Qualification exam, you’ll be awarded your certification. This is a digital certificate.

Study time

70 – 80 guided learning hours 


1 x 180-minute exam (answering ten from 16 questions) or 1 x 120-minute exam for PRINCE2® Registered Practitioners (answering six from 10 questions)

It is beneficial for you to have a minimum of two years of relevant practical experience in Project Management to complete this certification.

Applicants typically have some pre-existing Project Management knowledge or those progressing to the next step from the APM Project Fundamentals (PFQ) qualification.
