Platforms such as Indeed, Total Jobs and Glassdoor, allow employers to advertise current vacancies across a wide range of industries, making it easy to streamline your search for opportunities based on job title, location, salary and experience level.
While Indeed and Totaljobs focus primarily on job listings, Glassdoor also provides valuable insights into employers. Indeed and Glassdoor have recently announced their partnership, meaning job seekers can now see both vacancies and employer insights in one ecosystem.

To maximise your chances of finding the right role, use filters to narrow your search, tailor your cover letter to each application and apply as early as possible, as many employers begin reviewing applications before a vacancy closes.

These differ from job boards as they essentially act as a "matchmaker" between job seeker and employer. Examples include Reed, Hays and Michael Page.

The platform also makes it easy to connect with professionals in your chosen industry, allows you to follow companies you're interested in and engage with relevant content. To get the most out of LinkedIn, think beyond the Jobs tab. Use the search bar to look for industry-specific hashtags such as #CyberSecurity, #IT, or #ProjectManagement, as well as #Hiring alongside your preferred location.

AI is transforming the way people search for jobs, making it easier to find opportunities that match their skills, experience and career goals.

Review any generated content to ensure it accurately reflects your skills, experience and personality, as these platforms can "hallucinate" and generate incorrect information.
