She got in touch with Learning People for a free consultation, and since enrolling with Learning People, Iyanuoluwa has earned her CompTIA A+

Tell us about yourself and the courses that you took

Hi, my name is Iyanuoluwa Denike, and I studied the cybersecurity pathway. I was able to achieve my CompTIA A+, so I was able to do the two exams needed for that, and I was also able to achieve my security plus.

Why did you first reach out to Learning People?

I initially reached out to Learning People because I wanted to transition from my scientific background. I studied biomedical science at university and worked as a histology scientist for about two and a half years. I was looking to move into the tech field, but I wasn't sure which specific path I wanted to pursue.

How was your initial consultation call?

Being able to get advice on which pathway would be best for me, work better with my goals, and what type of certifications I would need to be able to achieve this pathway, was something that was very helpful for me and was something that led me in the right direction.

How has enrolling with Learning People impacted your career development?

I participated in Zoom support sessions and attended meetings where I received guidance on creating job application plans. My CV was reviewed, and I received assistance with interview preparation. This included sample questions I might be asked, as well as sending the job descriptions I was applying for to the team.

They also conducted a mock interview with me, which significantly boosted my confidence. Overall, these experiences were incredibly helpful.

With Learning People, you gain as much as you put in

What's been the best part of your learning journey?

The best part of this experience has been the confidence I’ve built, which I believe was a key factor in helping me stand out during the interview process for my current role. I was able to demonstrate my proactivity and my capacity for independent learning. Once I set my mind to mastering a new skill, I fully commit to it, and I have concrete evidence from my experience with the Learning People to support this. Additionally, receiving assistance with job applications and participating in mock interviews significantly boosted my confidence. These preparations helped me become familiar with the types of questions I was likely to be asked for various positions.

What advice would you give to someone considering enrolling?

Once you begin, make the most of your time and don't waste it. Information is available, but you can only gain as much as you invest, so take advantage of the resources at your disposal. Speak to your career advisor and others who are connected to you.Seek advice and ask for assistance, as they have already helped many people secure their dream roles. I encourage you to fully utilise this opportunity.

Was enrolling with Learning People worth the investment?

Investing in this opportunity is definitely worthwhile. It builds confidence in you and enhances your CV with valuable skills. It also helps you articulate your experiences during interviews, setting you apart from other candidates. If you're willing to learn and seek help when needed, this investment will be worthwhile.
