How automation is unlocking opportunities for career growth and increased earnings
The biggest disruption is due to increasing automation such as robotic process automation, large-language-model chatbots, and autonomous mobile robotics, all of which require specific skills for changed or completely new tasks. The report estimates this skills gap puts £64 billion in earnings at risk.
The report says ‘The potential boost to earnings from faster reskilling in response to automation is also significant. For instance, reducing the length of time it takes to reskill by 20 percent would yield additional employee earnings of £13 billion.’
With an estimated 1.5 million jobs potentially transformed by AI by 2030, it’s a better time than ever to invest in your future and equip yourself with the skills employers desperately need and increase your earnings.
