IT and cyber salaries are 27.3% above the national average, and rising

- The mean UK salary for cyber and IT security roles from 1st January 2026 to 30th April 2026 was £55,065, which is 27.3% above the national mean salary.
- The mean salary has continued to increase since the end of January, hitting as high as £64,736 towards the end of March.
- The median entry-level salary for IT security and cyber roles can range from £33,500. Senior roles can reach as high as £227,500.
Demand for IT and cybersecurity is high compared to all other occupations in the UK

- 3,339 unique job postings for IT and cybersecurity roles were posted in the UK between 1st January 2026 and 30th April 2026, which Adzuna rates as 'HIGH' compared to the average for all occupations in this location.
- 4,207 new job postings appeared over this time, which, again, Adzuna rates as showing 'HIGH' demand
- After a slight slow-down going into February, we are seeing an expected increase in line with the start of the economic year in April.
Information and communication, and finance industries are among the top hiring IT and cybersecurity professionals

- The demand for cyber and IT security professionals continues to increase across diverse sectors in 2026. As the number of cyber attacks affecting all types of businesses rises, organisations are feeling the critical importance of having security professionals within their workforce.

- This work benefits data is calculated from 2,669 (63.4%) of the overall unique job postings from January 2026 to April 2026 - these 2,669 postings contained salary and benefits data.
- 2,403 (57.1%) unique postings offered at least one benefit.
38.2% of IT & cybersecurity roles offer hybrid or completely remote working

- 38.2% of cyber and IT security job roles were listed on Adzuna as remote (6.8%) OR flexible (31.4%) roles
- 61.8% required on-site work
- 6.8% were fully remote
