The rapid growth of AI has led to 86% of companies globally reporting AI and information processing technologies as the main driver for business transformation, according to World Economic Forum.
The same report also found that ‘AI and big data’ is now the most in-demand skill with the highest expected growth globally from 2025-2030. The volume of job postings related AI rose by 35% from 2023-2024 and is expected to continue, according to McKinsey. The desire for AI skills was particularly prominent for roles such as software engineers, data scientists, and data engineers.
Accenture highlighted that with the correct training, generative AI could add £736 billion to the UK’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2038, so it should come as no surprise that it is becoming a highly sought after skill for businesses globally.
