Tell us about yourself and the courses that you took
My name is Jenish Pokharel, and I have been studying the Cloud Security Starter Bundle with Learning People to assist my career after moving to the UK from Nepal.
Why did you first reach out to Learning People?
Before moving to the UK, I worked as a DevOps engineer in Nepal. Upon my arrival, I found it quite challenging to enter the local IT industry. To address this, I reached out to the Learning People to identify the skills I was lacking compared to other candidates. I wanted to learn the specific professional skills needed to bridge the gap and successfully break into the UK IT industry.
How was your initial consultation call?
My initial consultation with my career consultant, Patrick, was fantastic. It was a positive experience for me. The environment was calm and friendly, allowing him to take the time to understand my previous experience and my future goals.
We discussed current market trends, and he recommended a specific pathway that I am now following. This has made me more aware of what to expect from the team and the learning process.
What's been the best part of your learning journey?
The online platform is very intuitive, well-designed, and easy to navigate. The materials are top-notch. What I found most helpful were the tools for exam preparation. You can run exam simulations to track your progress and use flashcards to solidify your understanding of specific concepts. The hands-on labs were a total game-changer for me.
Additionally, if you ever get stuck, the tutors and support team are always just a message away. The best part for me has been the regular check-in calls from the support teams to see how I’m progressing. This level of service keeps you motivated and moving towards your goals. Overall, it’s easily the best service I have ever experienced.

Enrolling with Learning People has had a massive impact on my professional confidence. As someone with a DevOps background, I had the technical foundations, but this course has helped me translate those skills for the market, moving me from a generalist to [a] specialised professional.
