Rabiah Coon Testimonial | Advancing her Career in Project Management

Explore Rabiah's inspiring journey and discover how Learning People's project management certifications helped him advance his career.

Rabiah worked in project management for years, but felt that she needed certifications to back up her experience. She was also looking for support in navigating the job market after being in her role for a while.

Since enrolling with Learning People, Rabiah has earned her Change Management and Agile PM Foundation certifications and is now working towards two more. With the support of our team, she's regained her confidence and is ready to take the next step in her career.

I'd say the best part of my experience with Learning People has really been working with the people, and I really felt like I had someone in my corner the entire time.

I'm actually a little bit farther in my career than some people might be, but I think, honestly, that's a good time to do something too.

Hi, my name is Rabiah Coon and I've been studying the project management pathway. I've already received my Change Management Foundation and my Agile PM Foundation certifications, and I'm going for two more.
I kind of hit what I felt was a plateau; I was starting to want to look for something new, but I knew I'd never had the actual certifications to back me up. I've been doing project management for a while, actually. I realised I didn't really have the formal education to back me up, so that's why I reached out to Learning People.
I was really kind of feeling like I just needed someone to hear me, and I did feel listened to. I also got some feedback on what my current experience was like and the things that could maybe help me, including the careers advice and then also the courses.

But I really just felt heard for the first time in a while. I didn't feel as bad about where I was at anymore.
I'd say the best part of my experience with Learning People has really been working with the people, and I really felt like I had someone in my corner the entire time I was looking for a job. Besides just friends or family. Not just friends or family. They're very important, but someone who had a little bit different perspective and probably didn't have the same personal invested interest in me, but a professional one. Which is helpful because then sometimes you can get more honest feedback and a more honest point of view.
For me, learning people was definitely worth the investment. It's an investment of my time, but also of money. And in both cases, it was worth it. I'm actually a little bit farther in my career than some people might be, but I think, honestly, that's a good time to do something too. And to look at making a change or really developing yourself.

Because a lot of times, maybe early in our career, especially when I started, which was a while ago, you end up just getting thrown into different things, and it's a skill to be able to just go and do them. But there's something about getting the foundations and learning and maybe breaking some, you know, practices that you got from other people and really establishing what it means to you, in my case, to be a project manager- just getting some reassurance and some perspective was really helpful.
So I think having both education, the test-taking, and the careers aspect to me made it really worthwhile.
